Tomatillo, Mexican Husk Tomato

Physalis ixocarpa 'Super Verde'

  • Great for salsa verde!
  • Indeterminate growth habit
  • Unique flavor

Details

Physalis ixocarpa 'Super Verde' produces high yields of 2 oz. globe-shaped Mexican husk tomatoes on an indeterminate plant. Tomatillo plants require cross-pollination (three or more plants are needed for proper pollination). Tomatillos ripen late in the season, so have patience, and are fully ripe when they pull easily from plants with a gentle tug and the husks are papery and turn green-brown. Unique flavor of the green fruit makes a tasty salsa verde. 75 days to maturity.
